How challenging are the classes?

Our classes are designed for all levels of fitness. We show modifications for each exercise so each participant can choose whether to make it more or less challenging. The important thing is to work at a level that is safe and effective for you, and we help you do that.

What if my dog doesn’t behave/isn’t trained?

Trust us - we've seen it all! The only way to know if classes are appropriate for your dog is to try it out. You will likely notice improvements in your dog’s behavior after attending a few classes. We incorporate some dog training (with the help of New York’s #1 dog trainer, Calm Energy Dog Training) so that dogs are physically and mentally stimulated throughout class. They won’t get bored, which is key to good behavior. You will also pick up some training tips that you can use outside of class.

When will you offer classes near me?

We would love to expand! If you have a group of at least 5 dedicated individuals in your area, contact us and we will work with you to set up classes in your neighborhood.

What should I wear/bring to class?

Please bring a yoga mat or towel for ground work and water for you and your dog. You should wear comfortable athletic attire and appropriate shoes. Keep in mind that we sometimes do get a little dirty!

What do you do when it rains?

In the event of extreme inclement weather (heavy rain, heavy snow, strong winds, extreme heat, etc.) we will cancel class. We will post an announcement on our Facebook Page at least one hour in advance of the class start time. Please visit our blog for tips on exercising with your dog in the heat.

Do you train dogs?

Go Fetch Run offers fitness classes for people that incorporate dogs; it is not a dog training class. Our partner, Calm Energy Dog Training, provides advice on class design and the best ways for both dogs and people to get the most out of our classes. We do use standard commands in class and teach the dogs how to move safely along with us as we exercise.  Many dog participants have shown vastly improved behavior in and out of class after only a couple of sessions.

Can I bring more than one dog?

In order to exercise safely and effectively we only allow one dog per participant. If you have more than one dog, you can alternate which one you bring or recruit a friend to come with you!

What kind of leash and collar should I use?

A 4-6’ light nylon or leather leash is ideal. Please do not use a retractable/flexi leash for safety reasons.  Regular or Martingale collars are preferred. If you use a harness, a front-clip harness is best. Do not use a prong collar or choke chain.

Can I join without a dog?

The majority of participants do bring a dog, but our workout is so great some choose to come on their own.  Couples can also participate together with their dog (or dogs).
